Biographical Information[edit]

Haruka Yamada has played in Nippon Pro Baseball. He was deaf in his left ear.

Yamada was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 5th round of the 2014 NPB draft; the scout was Kosuke Noda. He spent most of his first six seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he only got 34 at-bats combined for the top team. Yamada got some chances after Sosuke Genda was injured in 2021, and he played 98 games with a .197/.258/.252 batting line. He struggled again as his batting line was .200/.270/.225 in 2022, and the Lions traded him to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Ryusei Sato. Yamada went 11-for-41 in 2023, and the Fighters released him. He signed with the Rakuten Golden Eagles, and he went 4-for-25 in 2024.
