Biographical Information

Outfielder Hajime Takai was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 2nd round of the 1987 NPB draft, and he was 2-for-13 in 1989. Takai, Hiroshi Yagi and Yoshifumi Ayukawa hit back-to-back-to-back triples on September 5, and they tied the NPB record. He played 66 games (119 PA) with a .270/.314/.405 batting line in 1990, but he failed to return to the big club before he announced his retirement in 1994.
