Biographical Information

Guilherme Pohlmann had a 7.38 ERA for Germany in the 1997 European Junior Championship and was 0-1 with a 6.97 ERA in the 1998 European Junior Championship. He pitched for the German national team in the 2001 European Championship. Relieving Dirk Fries with a 6-4 deficit in the 7th against Croatia and worked 3 shutout innings (3 H, 3 K) but his team could only pull within one more run. He also replaced Michael Otto in the 6th inning of the 7th/8th place game, also versus Croatia; he allowed 4 hits, a walk and 3 runs (one earned) in 3 innings, striking out one; Tim Henkenjohann closed out the 10-4 victory. It does not appear that he ever played in Germany's Bundesliga, instead playing in Brazil, leading one to presume he was a Brazilian player of German descent.
