Biographical Information[edit]
Guangxuan Sun played for the Tianjin Lions in the China Baseball League. He debuted for the Chinese national team in the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, and he was the youngest member of the team. He relieved Tom Sun in the 7th inning against Germany with one man aboard and a 11-2 deficit, and he walked three straight batters (Vincent Ahrens, Shawn Larry and Simon Baumgardt) so the game was called due to the mercy rule. Sun then replaced Huadancairang in the 7th inning against Brazil, and he struggled again. Sun retired Dante Bichette Jr., then he allowed a single to Lucas Rojo and a double to Victor Mascai. He struck out Gabriel Do Carmo, but Vítor Ito then knocked in the 10th run for Brazil and ended China's tournament as it was another mercy rule loss. These were the only two mercy-ruled game of the entire tournament, and poor Sun was the same pitcher to allow the final run each time. [1]
