Biographical Information[edit]
Greg Baker played for the USA national baseball team and in the minor leagues.
Baker represented the USA in the 1979 Pan American Games. The San Francisco Giants selected him in the 8th round of the 1979 Amateur Draft, and he hit .220/.349/.369 in 42 games for the Cedar Rapids Giants in 1979. He played 83 games with a .295/.399/.421 batting line for the Fresno Giants in 1980, and his batting line fell to .229/.311/.347 in 44 games for the AAA Phoenix Giants. Baker then crushed 7 homers with a .253/.327/.353 batting line for the Shreveport Captains in 1981, and he recorded a .246/.314/.371 batting line with 8 homers for the Captains in 1982. That was his last season as a professional player.
