Biographical Information[edit]

Fuminobu Kinoshita played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Kinoshita was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 6th round of the 1987 NPB draft, and he went 2-1 with a 3.48 ERA in 32 appearances in 1988. He had a 3.64 ERA in 21 appearances in 1989, and he allowed a run in 2/3 of an inning in the 1989 Nippon Series Game 4. The Buffaloes lost to the Yomiuri Giants in 7 games. Kinoshita slumped to a 6.47 ERA in 29 games in 1990, and he pitched 11 games with a 5.56 ERA in 1991. He only got 4 appearances combined in the next two seasons, and his ERA was 4.19 in 36 games in 1994. Kinoshita was mainly placed in the minors again in 1995, and the Buffaloes traded him to the Yakult Swallows for Katsuhito Osaka and Yukio Arai. Kinoshita went 3-2 with a 4.88 ERA in 1996, and he announced his retirement after he recorded a 5.06 ERA in 12 games in 1997.

Overall, Kinoshita was 9-7 with a 4.60 ERA, struck out 174 and pitched 219 1/3 innings in 9 seasons in NPB.
