Biographical information[edit]

Fumimasa Ishibashi was a minor league baseball outfielder/catcher who played for the Kochi Fighting Dogs in the Shikoku-Kyushu Island League (years unknown) and the Japan Samurai Bears (2005). For the Samurai Bears, he hit .197 in 178 at-bats. Ishibashi moved to the United States and was signed by the Rockford RiverHawks in 2007, but he didn't play for them as he was released prior to the start of the season. Ishibashi played for the Inland Empire 66ers in 2008 and 2010. He played in only two games for the 66ers in 2008, going 0 for 2 at the plate. In 2010, he appeared in one game and went 1-for-4 at the plate. Ishibashi may have served as a bullpen catcher for the 66ers in 2010.

After serving as bullpen catcher and Japanese language interpreter for the 2011 AZL Dodgers, he became a Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen catcher in May 2012 and remained in that position through 2013. Ishibashi returned to the AZL Dodgers in 2014 as a coach. He started 2015 as a coach for the Ogden Raptors, but swapped jobs with coach Angel Sanchez in mid-June and moved to the Great Lakes Loons for the remainder of the season. He stayed with the Loons through 2017. Ishibashi coached the Raptors again in 2018 before managing the DSL Dodgers 2 in 2019. Ishibashi was scheduled to repeat as manager before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. He was a coach for the ACL Dodgers in 2021-2024. In the latter year Ishibashi also worked as the Dodgers' "Complex Coordinator". He continued as Coordinator in 2025, but not as a coach.
