Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Rossi played for the USA national baseball team and in the minor leagues.
Rossi represented the USA when they won Silver in the 1969 Amateur World Series. He was team MVP all four seasons, hitting .356 overall and .435 in 1970; he set the school record with 3 homers in a game. He was the All-American catcher for NCAA Division II in 1970, the first player from Montclair State to be All-American. [1] The New York Yankees picked him in the 8th round of the 1970 Amateur Draft, and the first baseman hit .247/.335/.390 in 70 games for the Fort Lauderdale Yankees in his first season. Rossi played 95 games with a .242/.352/.355 batting line in Fort Lauderdale in 1972, and his professional career ended. He was elected into the Montclair State University Hall of Fame in 1980. [2]
