Biographical Information

Enrique Malpica played for the Mexican national team and in the minors.

He was with Mexico for the 1995 Pan American Games. He hit .239/.297/.244 in 79 games and 176 AB for the 1995 Águila de Veracruz; that was the most action the infielder would see in a season during his pro career. He batted .167/.233/.278 for the 1996 Petroleros de Poza Rica and was 5-for-40 with 3 walks for them in 1997. In 1998, he produced at a .218/.289/.257 for the Mayas de Chetumal. He split 1999 between Veracruz (4-for-21, 2B, BB) and the Leones de Yucatan (9-for-47, 2B, HR, 3 BB). For his LMB career, he had hit .207/.269/.244 in 439 AB spread over 225 games.
