Biographical Information

Outfielder Ely Kaphan played 9 seasons of minor league ball from 1903 to 1912, playing as high as Class-A in 1905 but never made it past Class-B for the rest of his career after this. He apparently opened a restaurant called Kaphan's after his playing days were over. The restaurant was opened in the 1920s and closed in the late 1990s.
