Biographical Information[edit]
Elliot Berger played for the British national team.
In the 2015 European Junior Championship, he hit .182/.375/.273, starting at first for Britain. He was roughed up in his lone mound appearance, versus Italy; he allowed 9 runs (8 earned) in 2 1/3 IP, losing to Simone Alfinito. He had the team's highest ERA, 3.86 ahead of Matteo Sollecito. [1] With the Zürich Barracudas in the 2016 CEB Cup, he was 0 for 7 with 3 walks and a run. [2] He was with Britain in the 2016 European Championship; in his lone at-bat, he singled off Andy Orfakanos and came around to score. He also pitched an inning, against the champion Dutch national team. Relieving Ben Pearson with a 10-1 deficit, two on and two out in the 6th, he allowed a RBI single to Stijn van der Meer but Yurendell de Caster was thrown out at home to end the inning. He got Dwayne Kemp and Christopher Garia to open the 7th (fanning Garia) then hit Roger Bernadina and gave up a Curt Smith single before Matt Maitland closed out the frame. [3]
Berger hit .214/.214/.214 and allowed a run in an inning in the 2017 U23 European Championship. [4] Coming to the US for college, he had a 15.75 ERA in 3 games for Erie Community College in 2020-2021 and had a save and a 5.14 ERA in 2021-2022. [5] He then transferred to SUNY Brockport but does not appear to have played there. [6]
