Biographical Information

Infielder Elevys Gonzalez played in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system from 2008-2012. He spent 2013 in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and reached AAA for the first time. Overall, Gonzalez hit .266/.337/.393 while appearing in 433 games for his minor league career.

Gonzalez turned to coaching after his playing career ended. He spent 5 years working at an amateur training facility, first as an infield coach and then as a field coordinator.[1]] The Texas Rangers then hired him as a hitting coach in either 2020 or 2021, probably the latter. Gonzalez was a hitting coach for the DSL Rangers 1 in 2021 and a coach for the DSL Rangers Blue in 2022. Texas promoted Gonzalez to manager of the DSL Rangers Red in 2023.

Gonzalez moved stateside in 2024 when the Rangers appointed him development coach for the ACL Rangers. According to the same source noted above, the Rangers moved him up to the Hickory Crawdads mid-season where he worked as a bench coach. Gonzalez was a development coach for the Hub City Spartanburgers in 2025. He returned to Hickory as their bench coach in 2026.
