One of the original players of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, Eleanor Dapkus played eight seasons with the Racine Belles. Originally an outfielder, she led the league with 10 home runs in 1943. The next year, she paced the circuit with 10 doubles, and in 1946, she tied for the league lead with 9 triples. She was later converted to pitching and went 24-9 for the Belles in 1948.
