Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Zmich, as of 2006, is the only player in Major League history with a last name that starts with "Zmi". There are no players in the minor leagues currently that have a chance of "threatening" this title any time soon.
Ed pitched in 13 games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1910 and 1911. He was six years younger than catcher Roger Bresnahan.
In the minors from 1908-1912 he posted a record of 50-32.
