Douglas Matumoto

Douglas Matumoto was one of five Matumotos on the Brazilian national team in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup, alongside brother Silvio Matumoto and cousins Jô Matumoto, Edson Matumoto and William Matumoto. ^[1] The 17-year-old was 0 for 4 with a walk and handled one assist at third base, where he backed up William. He also allowed 2 runs in 2/3 IP. ^[2] He was 3-1 with a 1.83 ERA and .7 WHIP in the 1996 World Junior Championship. Brazil's other hurlers were a combined 0-2. He was 10th in ERA; among the top 10 in ERA, only Dong-chul Lee had more wins and he led with 17 K, one ahead of Matt White. ^[3]
