Biographical Information[edit]
Diego Esteban pitched twice for the Spanish national team in the 1997 Intercontinental Cup. He closed out their 12-1, 6-inning mercy rule loss to Team USA with a scoreless inning. Taking over for Eduy Mosqueda, he allowed a lone hit, to Brian Roberts. The other batters he faced were Jason Hill, Eric Valent and Dave Matranga. He also finished off Spain's 15-5 loss to Bronze Medal winner Australia, replacing Juan Tellechea. He walked Scott Tunkin then got Andrew Scott for the last out Spain would ever get in an Intercontinental Cup.
