Biographical Information

Denny Larrondo has pitched in the minors.

After leaving Cuba, he signed with the New York Yankees for $550,000. He made his pro debut in 2019, split between the GCL Yankees East and GCL Yankees West with a combined 2-5, 5.01 record. The 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, he had a 5-1, 4.56 record for the FCL Yankees, striking out 38 in 25 2/3 IP. He tied for the Florida Complex League in wins.

Waived by New York, he was picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He spent 2023 with the ACL Diamondbacks Red (2-0, 4.01) and Visalia Rawhide (0-1, 6.17). He tied Aldrin Batista for 6th in the Arizona Complex League in Ks. He was 6-5 with a 3.56 ERA and 107 K in 93 2/3 IP for Visalia in '24 but walked 68. He led Diamondbacks farmhands in walks (14 ahead of Tommy Henry) and was 9th in strikeouts (between Avery Short and Humberto Castellanos). He was 7th in the California League in Ks and second in walks (11 behind Francis Texido). He split '25 between Visalia (1-3, 4.06 in 11 G) and the Hillsboro Hops (3-4, 7.58), striking out 92 but walking 41 in 80 2/3 IP.

Larrondo then made the Cuban national team roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
