Biographical Information[edit]
David Donald Pierce was a minor league outfielder, catcher, and first baseman who played from 1949 to 1954. He appeared for the Lumberton Auctioneers, Statesville Owls, Sumter Chicks, Erie Senators, and Hagerstown Packets.
Pierce attended Appalachian State Teachers College and was from Statesville, North Carolina.[1] He later coached baseball at Appalachian State Teachers College in 1959 and 1960. Appalachian State's record book credits him with a 7-13 record in those two seasons.[2]
