Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Dan DeLucia played college ball at The Ohio State University from 2005-2008 and graduated with a degree in Finance. The Detroit Tigers drafted him in the 35th round of the 2008 Amateur Draft and he played in their minor league system that year. He spent 2009-2010 with the Toronto Blue Jays organization and reached High-A in both years. DeLucia completed his professional playing career in 2011 with the Na Koa Ikaika Maui in the independent North American League.
DeLucia returned to Ohio State in fall 2013 as a volunteer assistant coach. He retained that position for six years before getting promoted to pitching coach in 2019. DeLucia continued as a Buckeyes coach through the 2022 season. Throughout his tenure, instructing pitchers was his primary focus.
The Boston Red Sox hired DeLucia in 2023 as their minor league rehab pitching coach based in Fort Myers, FL. The Red Sox promoted him to pitching coach of the Worcester Red Sox in 2024-2026.
