Biographical Information

Daizo Kataoka was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the 1979 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Akinobu Okada, but he only pitched 4 games combined for the big club before he announced his retirement in 1983. While he allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings, he yielded just one run.
