Biographical Information[edit]
Daiki Yoshikawa was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 2nd round of the 2010 NPB draft, but he only got 28 at-bats combined for the top team before the Dragons released him in 2014. The Yomiuri Giants signed him, and he hit .250/.276/.375 in 47 games in 2015. He slumped to .176/.222/.176 in 2016, and he went 3-for-18 with 7 steals in 97 games in 2018. Yoshikawa was 0-for-9 in 2019, and he announced his retirement after he went 1-for-10 in 2020.
Overall, Yoshikawa hit .180/.225/.221 with 31 hits in 8 seasons in NPB. A frequent pinch-runner, he stole 14 bases in 17 tries and had 46 runs. He only had 195 plate appearances in 268 games. He also appears to have been a defensive sub on the infield often.
