Biographical Information[edit]

Daichi Takeyasu pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Takeyasu was picked by the Hanshin Tigers in the 3rd round of the 2015 NPB draft; the scout was Shuta Tanaka. He spent his first three seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he only pitched 3 games combined for the big club. He went 6-0 with a 1.30 ERA in the minors in 2018, and the Orix Buffaloes selected him as the compensation for losing free agent Yuki Nishi. Takeyasu went 3-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 2019, but he underwent right elbow injury so he only pitched 2 games in 2020. He then went 3-2 with a 4.44 ERA in 2021, and his ERA was 3.81 in 6 starts in 2022. He allowed 3 walks in an inning in the 2022 Nippon Series Game 3, and the Buffaloes beat the Yakult Swallows in 7 games. Takeyasu was 0-2 with a 10.38 ERA in 2023, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Takeyasu was 10-6 with a 4.29 ERA, struck out 90 and pitched 151 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
