Curly Brown is one of only three major leaguers remembered with the name Curly (Curly Ogden and Curly Onis are the others). Brown pitched four years in the majors, with a good ERA in 1911 (2.74 in 3 games with the St. Louis Browns) and 1913 (2 more Browns appearances). During his last two years in the majors (1913 and 1915) he hit pretty well, going 6-for-16. In 28 games, he was 3-8 with a 4.20 ERA. He pitched in the Pacific Coast League in 1918, posting a 1.56 ERA. The following year, he had a 2.03 ERA, which led the league.
