Biographical Information[edit]

Cooper Morgan has played for the Australian national team.

He had a 4.50 ERA in three games for Australia in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup. [1] In his Australian Baseball League debut, he walked four and allowed two runs in two innings for the 2019-2020 Canberra Cavalry, his hometown team. He came to the US for junior college. [2] He had a 4-1, 4.03 record as a junior after transferring to the University of the Cumberlands.

Morgan allowed 3 walks, no hits and an unearned run in 3 innings in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup, striking out four; he got the win over Puerto Rico's Lucas Vega. [3] He went 5-1 with a save and a 4.80 ERA as a senior, striking out 60 in 45 innings. He tied for 10th in the Mid-South Conference in wins and was 9th in strikeouts. Back in Australia, he was 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA for the Adelaide Giants in 2025-2026, his first ABL campaign in seven years. He pitched 15 games, tying Danyony Pulido and Todd Van Steensel for 4th in the loop. He tied for 3rd with 15 walks and the missed the top-10 in K by 3 with 30.

Making Australia's squad for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, he got into one game, against defending champion Samurai Japan. He relieved Ky Hampton in the 8th with a 4-1 deficit, the bases loaded and one out. He got Shota Morishita to ground into an inning-ending double play, making the lone batter he faced in the tournament a successful experience. [4]
