Biographical Information

Catcher Christian Cerda was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Rays in July 2019. Due largely to Covid-19 shutting down minor league ball in 2020, Cerda made his pro debut almost two years later, in July 2021 with the DSL Rays 1. He came stateside in 2022 with the FCL Rays. July was once again eventful for Cerda, as on July 30, 2022 he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for David Peralta. He was assigned to the ACL Diamondbacks Black to finish that year.
