Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Chris Rabago was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 13th round of the 2014 amateur draft from the University of California, Irvine. He played in the minor leagues from 2014 to 2022, briefly reaching AAA in two separate seasons. He was named an organizational All-Star in 2017 when he hit .272 in 89 games with the Lancaster Jethawks of the California League. That said, he was not necessarily a great hitter, as his average was .243 in 8 minor league seasons, but he was solid defensively. He was briefly with the New York Yankees in 2018, after being claimed off waivers in August and finished that season in AA with the Trenton Thunder before being claimed by the Kansas City Royals in the minor league portion of the 2018 Rule V Draft and then re-signing with the Rockies. Before the 2022 season, he signed as a free agent with the Detroit Tigers and played his final season in their organization.

In 2026, he was named bullpen catcher and catching coach with the Colorado Rockies.

He is the brother of Hector Rabago.
