Biographical Information

Chris Bear has been on the Great Britain national team.

He was the NJCAA Division III Gold Glove shortstop in 2024, fielding .957. He also made All-American. Transferring to Maine, he was a Black Bear by team affiliation and also a Bear by name. He hit .271/.386/.388 his junior season. He then started every game at short for Britain in the 2025 European Championship. He flew out against the Netherlands' Tom de Blok his first time up and later that day singled off Lars Huijer. He finished the tourney 2-for-18 with 4 walks and 3 runs in 6 games, fielding .893. He tied Alex Schmidt for 3rd in assists (17), tied for 3rd in errors (3, even with Anthony Temesvary, Jhorjan Guevara and Vojtěch Menšík) and tied for 4th with 3 double plays turned.
