Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Moss was born and died in Meridian, MS, and attended the University of Mississippi from 1930 to 1934, overlapping with the time there of Skeeter Webb (Webb was also born and died in Meridian). He came to the majors as a catcher in 1934, playing with the Philadelphia Athletics until 1936. The Athletics, of course, were managed by Connie Mack, a former catcher himself.
The Athletics had three different starting catchers during those three years.
Charlie Moss managed the Troy Trojans in 1937, the Federalsburg A's in 1938, and the Gadsden Pilots in 1939.
