Biographical Information[edit]

César Idrogo has played in the minors and for the Venezuelan national team.

He was signed by the Cleveland Indians in 2017 and made his pro debut in 2018, hitting .309/.361/.436 for the DSL Indians with 7 steals in 7 tries, splitting time between first base and catcher. Moving to the outfield the next year, he batted .243/.301/.306 for the AZL Indians Red. The 2020 season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, he was 7-for-38 with 3 doubles and 3 walks for the Lynchburg Hillcats after joining the team in late August. The Indians became the Cleveland Guardians and he picked up in 2022 with Lynchburg (.337/.422/.488 in 27 G) and the Lake County Captains (.292/.346/.417 in 8 G).

Idrogo split 2023 between the Captains (.238/.312/.321 in 29 G) and the Akron RubberDucks (.243/.312/.314 in 29 G). He was released by Cleveland and played for Venezuela in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup. Starting in right, he produced at a .250/.379/.333 clip with 5 RBI in 8 games; he had 8 putouts, an assist and no errors. [1] In his Venezuelan League debut, he was 1-for-7 with a walk and a RBI for the 2024-2025 Bravos de Margarita, with MLB veteran Ramón Flores the primary left fielder. At the 2025 Bolivarian Games, he started in right again. He hit .188/.263/.313 with 5 RBI in 5 games; he had 6 putouts, an assist and no errors. His best game was a 2-run, 3-RBI outing against El Salvador, tripling off Eduardo Palacios. He was 5th in the Games in RBI, pacing the Bronze Medalists in that department. [2]
