Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Cam Hobson played in the Seattle Mariners system from 2011 to 2015. Though he peaked briefly at Triple-A (4 games), he never ascended to the majors.
He was drafted twice. He was initially taken by the New York Yankees in the 37th round of the 2010 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He did sign after being taken by Seattle in the 11th round of the 2011 amateur draft. He was signed by scouts Brian Williams and Dave Alexander.
He began his career by going 4-2 with a 2.89 ERA in 12 games (5 starts) for the Everett AquaSox in 2011, striking out 51 in 43 2/3 innings, then followed that with his only double-digit win season by going 10-10 with a 5.27 mark in 27 starts between the Clinton LumberKings and High Desert Mavericks in 2012. He was 15-23 over his final three seasons. He reached Triple-A for the first and only time in 2015, tossing 7 2/3 innings for the Tacoma Rainiers and posting a 7.20 ERA.
Overall, Hobson went 29-35 with a 4.84 ERA in 103 games (77 starts). In 472 2/3 innings, he allowed 554 hits and 154 walks (1.498 WHIP), while striking out 328 batters.
