Biographical Information[edit]
Bogdan Arnez was on the Slovenian national team in the 1999 European Championship. As a RF/P, he was 1 for 7 with a double, run and two RBI. His 3.60 ERA was the best of any of their hurlers to work more than one inning. He led the team with 8 K (four more than #2 Jaka Bradac) and led them in IP (10 1/3, 1/3 ahead of Tine Zaletel). He lost a 4-3 duel to Belgium's Kris Beeckmans in a near-upset. In the field, he had four errors in 11 chances for the event. [1] He was with Kranjski Lisjaki for the 2001 European Cup. [2] He later played for Croatia's Vindija Varadzin (2007) [3]. Slovenia sent a team to Italy's Serie C in 2008 and he won the batting title at .485, .002 ahead of teammate Jaka Serbec. [4]
In the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, the 38-year-old hit .231/.444/.231 with five walks in four games. He led in walks, one ahead of Ales Mravlje, and tied for 6th in OBP. [5] In Italy's Serie B in 2009, he was 2 for 5. [6]
