Biographical Information

"Terre Haute won the game on Richardson's home run in the fifth when the bases were full . . ." - about a game on June 15 in which Bill Richardson batted clean-up, described in Sporting Life, June 28, 1902

Bill Richardson played in 15 games in the majors with the 1901 St. Louis Cardinals, playing first base. He also had more than a decade in the minors, sometimes playing catcher. Much of his minor league career was spent in the Central League.

Richardson managed a couple times in the minors.

In 1901 he was suspended for being in a fight with a catcher from Davenport. In an unkind note, Sporting Life of June 4, 1904 said he had the reputation of being the laziest player in the league.
