Biographical Information[edit]

James Noblett was a Canadian-born professional infielder who played second base and shortstop in organized baseball from 1902 through 1913. His clubs included the Muskegon Reds, Monroe Hill Citys, Atlanta Crackers, Meridian Ribboners, Little Rock Travelers, Montgomery Senators, Terre Haute Hottentots, Grand Rapids Wolverines, Worcester Busters, Haverhill Hustlers, Utica Utes, and Evansville River Rats.

After his playing career, Noblett remained active in baseball in Grand Rapids. In 1914 he bought a half-interest in the Grand Rapids club of the Central League and served as its secretary and treasurer, with his sporting goods store used as league headquarters.[1] He also coached baseball at Mississippi State University in 1906.[2] Noblett died in Beverly Hills, CA in 1938.

Records list his place of birth as York, ON[3], which is not the current regional municipality, which was only formed in 1971, but a self-standing town within the city limits of Toronto, ON which was eventually incorporated into the city proper.
