Aviad Schechter has been on the Israeli national team.
In the 2021 U-18 European Championship, he was 0 for 6 with two walks. [1] He drew 12 walks in 7 games in the 2022 U-18 European Championship, hitting .333/.680/.333 with 7 runs and handling 27 chances error-free; playing mostly first base, he pitched briefly, allowing a run in 1/3 IP. He led the event in walks (4 ahead of Williams Wong) and was 4th in OBP (between Miquel Willem and Manuel Zazza). [2] By 2024, he had completed his service in the Israel Defense Forces and was playing in the Florida Collegiate Summer League, one of several Israelis who made the journey. [3] During the 2025 U-23 European Championship, he hit .214/.389/.214. [4]
That earned him a spot on Israel's team for the 2025 European Championship. He started in left field against France, grounding out against Quentin Moulin his first time up. He finished 1-for-11 but with 4 walks, a HBP and 3 runs, two of them coming in the 7th/8th place game win over Croatia. His hit was off Germany's Sascha Koch. He fielded .933 as a second baseman and corner outfielder. Only Robb Paller drew more walks for the Israelis. [5]
