Atsushi Nakazato played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years
Nakazato was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the 2000 NPB draft, and he went 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in his first season. He then spent the next three seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he had a 4.50 ERA in 2 games in 2005. Nakazato's ERA was 3.60 in 13 games in 2006, and he appeared in the 2006 Nippon Series. He allowed a 3-run shot to Atsunori Inaba in Game 3, then he pitched 2/3 of an shutout inning in Game 5. The Nippon Ham Fighters beat the Dragons in 5 games. Nakazato was 3.48 in 13 games in 2008 after missing a season due to left hand injury, but he only pitched 2 games in 2009 and he was released. The Yomiuri Giants signed him, and he only pitched 2 games for their top team before he announced his retirement in 2011.
Overall, Nakazato was 2-2 with a 4.65 ERA, struck out 32 and pitched 40 2/3 innings in 6 seasons in the NPB.
