Biographical Information[edit]

Atsuhiro Mitsuhara was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 2nd round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he went 7-4 with a 5.12 ERA in his rookie season. However, he suffered from injuries, and he stayed in the minors for the entire 2006 season. On September 6, he punched a glass window after allowing 3 runs in 5 innings, and he had a severe right hand injury. Mitsuhara only got 8 appearances combined in the next four seasons, and the Buffaloes traded him to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Toshio Saito. Mitsuhara was 0-3 with a 7.82 ERA in 2011, and he he announced his retirement in 2012. He was an assistant coach for Kyoto Sangyo University from 2018 to 2021, and he became their coach from 2022 to 2023.

Overall, Mitsuhara went 8-12 with a 6.88 ERA, struck out 58 and pitched 120 1/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
