Biographical Information[edit]

Art Croft played in the National Association and the National League. He died of pneumonia at age 29.

Croft is listed as a regular in 1875 and 1878 but not in 1877, even though he played in 54 of the team's 60 games. That's because he split his time between first base (where he had 28 games compared to 32 for Herman Dehlman) and outfield (where he had 27 games compared to 50 for Joe Blong and Mike Dorgan and 33 for Jack Remsen).

He also played for Davenport in 1879.
