Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Andrew Clark played professionally from 2010 to 2014, peaking at Double-A.

He was drafted three times. Initially, he was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 18th round of the 2006 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He was next taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 31st round of 2009 amateur draft, but again did not sign. He finally inked a contract after being taken by the Texas Rangers in the 13th round of the 2010 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Ryan O'Rourke (the signing scout was Derek Lee). He began his pro career that year.

With the Spokane Indians his first year, he hit .295/.401/.350 with 1 home run, 41 RBI and 37 walks in 63 games and was named a MiLB.com Organization All-Star. He followed that by hitting .310/.430/.477 with 14 home runs, 72 RBI and 83 walks (to just 73 strikeouts) in 123 games between the Hickory Crawdads and Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2011; he was named a Baseball America Low Class A All-Star and, while with Hickory, led the South Atlantic League in on-base percentage (.422). He played just 2 games for Myrtle Beach in 2012 and retired on April 10. He unretired for the 2013 season, however, and joined the independent Evansville Otters of the Frontier League. He hit .425/.535/.800 with 7 home runs, 24 RBI and 19 walks (to 11 Ks) in 25 games for them. That prompted the New York Yankees to sign him. He hit .277/.333/.426 with 3 homers and 20 RBI in 39 games for their Double-A affiliate, the Trenton Thunder. He joined the indy ranks again for 2014, hitting .284/.377/.472 with 14 home runs and 51 RBI in 85 games for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League, thus wrapping up his career.

Overall, Clark hit .299/.405/.430 with 18 homers, 133 RBI and 133 walks in 227 games in affiliated ball. He hit .313/.412/.540 with 21 homers, 75 RBI and 65 walks in 110 indy games. Combined, he hit .304/.407/.467 with 39 homers, 208 RBI and 198 walks.
