Biographical Information

Andre Demetral has played for the Greek national team, as did his father Chris Demetral and uncles Mike Demetral, Scott Demetral and Ted Demetral.

Andre hit .388 in junior college in 2021. Transferring to Northern Illinois, he batted .227/.363/.289 in 2022, .276/.404/.392 with 37 walks and 38 runs in 50 games in 2023 and .265/.377/.319 with 37 runs in 54 contests in '24. In the 2025 European Championship, he was the starting second baseman for Greece, a spot formerly manned by his father. He hit 6th in their opener and doubled off former major leaguer Dovydas Neverauskas of Lithuania his first time up. Down 3-2 in the 8th, he smacked a two-run single off Eimantas Žičkus for the game-winner. He hit .385/.467/.462 with 3 RBI in their four games, handling 16 chances error-free. Only Kasey Caras and George Anthanasiadis had more hits for Greece in those Euros.
