Biographical Information[edit]
Alvin Montgomery was a left-handed pitcher who batted right-handed. He played professional baseball in the Pittsburgh organization and in the upper minor leagues with the Kansas City Blues, a Wichita club in the Western League, the Los Angeles Angels, and the San Francisco Seals.[2] He attended the Southern Branch of the University of California, later University of California, Los Angeles.[1]
Montgomery returned to University of California, Los Angeles as head baseball coach in 1932 after A.J. Sturzenegger resigned to devote more time to spring football practice.[2] The Bruins finished 14-11 under Montgomery that season.[3]
