Alvaro Ascension

Alvaro Ascension was on the Netherlands Antilles national team. In the 1984 Amateur World Series, he hit .326/.383/.419; in left, he had 15 putouts and an assist without an error. He had nine RBI in his ten games, tying Saad Elhage for second on the team behind Rafael Jozefa Sr.'s 13 RBI. He batted .242/.265/.424 in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, handling 14 putouts in the field. His six runs were one shy of team leader Charlton Cijntije while his five RBI tied for second on the squad, two shy of Arthur Mari.
