Biographical Information[edit]
Alton Torregano played for the USA national baseball team and in the minor leagues.
Torregano represented the USA in the 1971 Pan American Games. He was the first player in the history of the Gulf States Conference to win the batting triple crown. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected him in the 6th round of the 1972 Amateur Draft, and he hit .219/.316/.255 in 45 games for the Ogden Dodgers in 1972. He struggled again in 1973 as his batting line was .200/.345/.278 in 39 games in Ogden, and he was 4-for-37 in 16 games with the Daytona Beach Dodgers in the same season. That was his last season as a professional player.
