History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

The Baltimore Marylands joined the National Association for the 1873 season. Unfortunately the team lasted only 6 games before dropping out on July 11th. Of the six games, two were against the Washington Blue Legs, and four were against their in-state rivals the Baltimore Canaries. In each of the six games the Marylands were blown out by a combined score of 152-26. They also committed a whopping 74 errors in the six games. The Marylands played only one home game their entire shortened season.
