Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Kansas City Royals

28th March 2025

(last updated on December 9, 2025)

If you go to Middle America, you will find the Kansas City Royals. Born in 1969, this middle-market franchise has 10 playoff appearances, 4 American League pennants, and 2 World Series titles (1985 and 2015). That includes a 10-year stretch from ‘76 to ‘85 when they made the postseason seven times. Their battles with the Yankees in the late 70s were epic and feisty. Further adding to this city’s fervent baseball history … Kansas City is the home of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and where the Kansas City Monarchs, maybe the most successful team in the Negro Leagues, played from the 1920s to the early 1960s. Baseball has always had a thriving heartbeat in KC, and with a solid young nucleus in place now, it appears the Royals will be American League contenders for the foreseeable future. Grab yourself some burnt ends as we count down the all-time leaders in home runs for the Kansas City Royals.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Texas Rangers

5th March 2025

(last updated on December 9, 2025)

From 1961 to 1971 the Washington Senators didn’t have much success in the nation’s capital. So, they relocated to the Lone Star State and became the Texas Rangers. Although they sprinkled in some winning seasons, this franchise didn’t make their first postseason appearance until 1996. Then in 2011 Texas came within a strike of winning the World series … twice. Redemption came in 2023 as the Rangers hoisted their first World Series trophy. Nine playoff appearances, three AL pennants, and a championship aren’t bad for a relatively young franchise. This team’s all-time roster has some pretty prominent names, especially in the power department. It’s time to grab a brisket sandwich and hop on your stallion as we gallop south to lasso up the all-time leaders in home runs for the Texas Rangers.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Tampa Bay Rays

25th February 2025

(last updated on December 20, 2025)

Like their NFL neighbors on the Gulf of Mexico, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays had an inauspicious start to their sports existence. From 1998 to 2007, they lost 91+ games each season and were the last-place doormat in the mighty American League East. Then in 2008, the Devil Rays became the Rays, and the franchise has been the model of success for small-market, financially-constrained teams ever since. They are still stalking that first World Series trophy, but they do have nine playoff appearances, four AL East titles, and two Fall Classics trips. That’s not bad for a team that has one of MLB’s lowest payrolls on a yearly basis and seems to be in a constant tug of war between Tampa and St. Pete. Please hop on this flight to the Gulf Coast of Florida where we will take in the sandy beaches, the freshest orange juice, and the all-time leaders in home runs for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Minnesota Twins

21st February 2025

(last updated on December 8, 2025)

You probably wouldn’t know it, but the history of the Minnesota Twins goes all the way back to the early 1900s. They played in the nation’s capital from 1901 to 1960, alternating names between the Washington Senators and the Washington Nationals. Walter Johnson, one of MLB’s historic pitchers, played his whole career in DC. The franchise moved to Minnesota in ‘61 and got to the World Series in ‘65 (a seven-game defeat to the Dodgers). Then in a five-year span, they won two of the most memorable World Series ever (‘87 and ‘91). Seven players who spent significant time with this franchise have a plaque in Cooperstown. As far as home runs, most of the team’s all-time leaders played in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Get your winter coat as we travel to Minnesota and thaw out the top home-run hitters ever for the Minnesota Twins.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Los Angeles Angels

7th February 2025

(last updated on December 8, 2025)

Keeping track of the correct title for the Angels is not an easy task for baseball fans. Let’s retrace their history … from 1961 to 1964 they were the Los Angeles Angels … from 1965 to 1996 they were the California Angels … from 1997 to 2004 they were the Anaheim Angels … from 2005 to 2015 they were the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim … and from 2016 to the present day they have returned to their original name: the Los Angeles Angels. Based in Anaheim, about 27 miles southeast of LA, the Angels have always seemed like the little brother to their neighbor in Dodger Blue. In terms of championships (nine to one) that may be true, but these Angels have a storied tradition too, and that is evident with their list of all-time home-run hitters. In the famous lyrics of their original owner Gene Autry, let’s get back in the saddle again and rope in the all-time leaders in home runs for the Los Angeles Angels.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Chicago White Sox

7th February 2025

(last updated on December 6, 2025)

Probably overshadowed by their North Side neighbors, the Chicago White Sox also have a storied history. Around since 1901, the other Sox have won six American League pennants and three World Series titles (1906, 1917, & 2005). Of course, the infamous Black Sox scandal of 1919 tainted the franchise and the game of baseball. Maybe the baseball gods have punished the team because they have only been back to the World Series twice since then (1959 & 2005) … and in 2024 they set the all-time record with 121 losses in a season. We won’t even touch the fiasco of Disco Demolition Night in 1979. Shifting to a positive note, the South Siders have won six division titles since 1983, and they have produced six AL ROY, five AL MVPs, and three Cy Young winners in team history. Let’s head over to Comiskey Park, but please leave your disco albums at home, and we will reveal the all-time leaders in home runs for the Chicago White Sox.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the San Diego Padres

31st January 2025

(last updated on December 5, 2025)

One of the easiest jobs in the world is being a meteorologist in San Diego. Today it’s 70 degrees and sunny … tomorrow it’s 70 degrees and sunny … the following day it will be 70 degrees and sunny. In that ideal climate is where the San Diego Padres play. First the Fathers inhabited Jack Murphy Stadium from 1969 to 2003, and they have been at beautiful Petco Park since 2004. It took them 14 years just to have a .500 season, and they have no World Series titles. However, San Diego has won two National League pennants (1984 & 1998), and they have been relevant contenders in the NL for the last few years. It’s not easy being in a division with the mighty Dodgers and the pesky Giants. The Padres have had some legendary players over the last 50+ years, more than just franchise-treasure Tony Gwynn. Now it’s time to visit maybe the most picturesque place in America and reel off the all-time leaders in home runs for the San Diego Padres.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Cleveland Guardians

30th January 2025

(last updated on December 5, 2025)

Since the Cubs finally captured that long-awaited World Series title in 2016, the Cleveland Guardians and their fans may get the honor of being MLB’s most tormented franchise. Heck, the classic movie Major League has satirized this misfortune. Known as the Indians through 2021, this team hasn’t won a World Series since 1948. But it’s not for a lack of trying. They lost the 1954 Fall Classic, and they didn’t return to the postseason until 1995. That started a run of five consecutive playoff appearances all ending in heartbreak, including the 1997 World Series when they had a lead going into the 9th inning of Game 7. Then in 2016, against the Cubbies, the Tribe blew a 3-1 World Series lead and lost Game 7 at home in extra innings. There are other painful tales I could recite, but I’ll spare Cleveland fans. The good news is that the Guardians have been a regular October player the last decade, so they have a chance of obtaining baseball’s ultimate glory soon … hopefully. Well, a major reason this fanbase feels so tortured is because Cleveland has had so many great players. No more rambling … let’s reveal the all-time leaders in home runs for the Cleveland Guardians.

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Milwaukee Brewers

29th January 2025

(last updated on December 4, 2025)

After one year as the Seattle Pilots, the Milwaukee Brewers became Wisconsin’s baseball team in 1970. To date, the Brewers have captured only one pennant … in 1982 when they lost a gut-wrenching seven-game World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals. Originally members of the American League, this franchise has resided in the NL Central since 1998. Although they are a small-market team, since 2008 the Brew Crew has made nine playoff appearances and had seven 90-win seasons. They have proven they can slug with the big boys of MLB. Speaking of slugging, Milwaukee has had their fair share of potent bats. From the days of County Stadium to hitter-friendly Miller Park, it’s time to recount the all-time leaders in home runs for the Milwaukee Brewers. Grab a beer and a brat!

Top 5 Leaders in Home Runs for the Arizona Diamondbacks

28th January 2025

(last updated on December 4, 2025)

The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tampa Bay Rays are the youngest franchises in Major League Baseball. Beginning play in 1998, the Diamondbacks amazingly won a World Series title in just their fourth year of existence (the second fastest in American professional sports). We all remember that epic seven-game 2001 Fall Classic against the New York Yankees only weeks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. That championship is the crowning moment in D-Backs history so far, but in only 28 seasons they do have seven playoff appearances and two NL pennants. Keep in mind that they play in the National League West … historically one of the toughest divisions with some of the deepest pockets. With a talented young nucleus and not far removed from a World Series appearance, Arizona’s future looks bright. But now it’s time to look to their past (and present as you’ll notice by one name). Let’s head out to the desert and unveil the all-time leaders in home runs for the Arizona Diamondbacks
