Players who are in the Hall of Fame who played with the Blue Jays | Immaculate Grid Answers July 14, 2023

Are you hooked on Immaculate Grid, the daily trivia game from Baseball Reference? We sure are! We’ll warn you right now—this blog post contains spoilers. But if you’re looking for a little help with today’s grid (or you already filled it out and want to know who else qualified) read on.

To fill out today’s bottom-middle cell, you need to choose a player who is in the Hall of Fame who played with the Toronto Blue Jays. There are 10 players who are in the Hall of Fame who played with the Blue Jays. Here are some examples:

Roy Halladay

Hall of Fame pitcher Roy Halladay played the first 12 years of his major league career as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. He won his first Cy Young Award as a Blue Jay in 2003, leading the major leagues in wins, innings pitched and Wins Above Replacement. In 2009 he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies, where he would finish out his career with a 2nd Cy Young win and a playoff no-hitter.

Roberto Alomar

Roberto Alomar joined the Toronto Blue Jays in 1991 and played there for five seasons. He made the All-Star Game every year he played for the Blue Jays. He led the Blue Jays in hits during their 1993 World Series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fred McGriff

Fred McGriff is one of the most recent entries into the Hall of Fame. He started his career with the Toronto Blue Jays, playing five seasons with them. He led the American League in home runs and OPS in 1989. He went on to play for five other franchises including the Atlanta Braves.

Jack Morris

Jack Morris spent the majority of his career with the Detroit Tigers, but did play in 1992 and 1993 with the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1992 he led the major leagues in wins and contributed to the team’s World Series victory, which was Morris’ third.

Dave Winfield

Dave Winfield played one season in Toronto, which happened to be the 1992 season in which the team won the World Series. Winfield earned his sixth and final Silver Slugger award for this season.
