Biographical Information

Yuto Kanakubo has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Kanakubo was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 5th round of the 2017 NPB draft, but he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He had a 5.40 ERA in 3 games in 2020, and he went 4-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 2021. He completed 3 2/3 innings with only a run allowed in the 2021 CLCS final stage Game 3, and the Swallows eliminated the Yomiuri Giants. However, Kanakubo struggled in 2022 as he went 1-1 with a 7.71 ERA, and he only pitched one game for the big club in 2023. He recorded a 3.52 ERA in 5 relief outings in 2024.
