Biographical Information

Yutaro Watanabe has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Watanabe represented Japan in the 2018 BFA U-18 Baseball Championship. The Seibu Lions selected him in the 2nd round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Hiroyuki Oshima. He spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he went 4-4 with a 3.44 ERA in 2021. Watanabe pitched 3 games with a 6.08 ERA in 2022, and he suffered from a shoulder injury in 2023 so he only pitched 2 games for the big club. He came back in 2024, and he was 3-4 with a 2.67 ERA in 14 starts.
