Biographical Information[edit]

Yukio Miyoshi pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 12 years.

Miyoshi signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1964, and he had a 2.49 ERA in 25 appearances in his first season. His ERA was 3.79 in 14 games in 1966, and he went 6-3 with a 2.97 ERA in 41 games in 1967. Miyoshi's ERA was 3.60 in 30 relief outings in 1968, but he slumped to a 5.52 ERA in 17 games in 1969. He only pitched 9 games in 1970, and he had a 3.25 ERA in 22 games in 1970. The Carp released him after Miyoshi recorded a 4.26 ERA in 15 appearances in 1972, and he signed with the Hankyu Braves. He was 1-3 with a 4.73 ERA in 1973, and he improved to 1-3 with a 3.20 ERA in 1974. Miyoshi went 2-2 with a 3.17 ERA in 1975, and he pitched 14 games with a 3.63 ERA in 1976. However, he spent the entire 1977 season in the minors, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Miyoshi was 15-16 with a 3.48 ERA, struck out 241 and pitched 586 2/3 innings in 12 seasons in NPB.
