Biographical Information[edit]
Yukihiro Iwata has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Iwata played for the Shinano Grandserows from 2020 to 2021, and he was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the development phase in the 2021 NPB draft; the scout was Satoshi Kashibuchi. He stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first two seasons, and he became one of Yakult's starting outfielders in 2024. Iwata hit .228/.275/.268 with 10 steals, and he tied Hidetaka Namiki, Munetaka Murakami, Yuki Okabayashi and Haruki Nishikawa for 8th in steals in the Central League. Iwata improved to .266/.322/.317 with 14 steals and 5 triples in 2025, and he was 2nd in triples (tied with Shota Morishita, 3 behind Okabayashi) and 7th in steals.
