Biographical Information[edit]

Yuki Egarashi was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 6th round of the 2011 NPB draft, and he had a 2.45 ERA in 7 games in his first season. His ERA was 4.50 in 4 appearances in 2013, and he went 1-3 with a 3.56 ERA for the Leones de Ponce in winter ball. Egarashi had a 2.79 ERA in 19 games n 2014, but he stayed in the minors for the entire 2015 season. He shined in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2016, and he was 9-2 with a 2.15 ERA. Egarashi led the Eastern League in ERA and winning percentage, and he was 2nd in wins (1 behind Dae-eun Rhee). However, he allowed 8 runs in 8 2/3 innings for the big club, and he announced his retirement after he surrendered 5 runs in 3 innings in 2017. He was an assistant coach for the Osaka University of Tourism in 2021.

Overall, Egarashi was 1-5 with a 4.10 ERA, pitched 59 1/3 innings and struck out 37 in 5 seasons in NPB.
